TAXES

Increases in property taxes have placed an unfair burden on homeowners and businesses in our community during a cost of living crisis. High property taxes are yet another barrier to families being able to afford homes in Gwinnett. Like many families in our community, Ruwa and her family have seen their tax bill rise to a record level. Ruwa will work to deliver meaningful tax relief in the State Legislature to benefit homeowners and small businesses, including:

• Return the state budget surplus to taxpayers

• Support an income tax rebate that will put money back into the pockets of Georgians

• Suspend the sales taxes on essential items for families like baby strollers, home appliances, and children’s books

• Reduce wasteful spending and inefficiencies in government

• Address taxes, fees, and red tape that harm consumers and our business community

• Expand the Homestead exemption and work to deliver property tax relief that benefits homeowners and small businesses
